Women’s Rights Week is back!

A multi-disciplinary series of events dedicated to promoting women’s rights and exploring the issues women face in contemporary Myanmar.

The 2019 Women’s Rights Week featured a wide variety of events: the first ever performance in Burmese of the Vagina Monologues, an exhibition of paintings by committed artist Chuu Wai Nyein, a day dedicated to women & peace in Myanmar, etc.

All events are free and taking place at the French Institute in Myanmar in Sanchaung Township.

My Feminism Upon your Walls
(An exhibition of feminist posters from around the world)

A unique exhibition in collaboration with the French organization La Rage, exploring the art and power of feminist posters, including posters from Myanmar exhibited for the first time.

Tuesday 3rd March | 7pm – 9pm
Let the Girls Play
(Outdoor movie screening)

The story of the first all-female soccer team in France, which started as a provocation but became a revolution.

Wednesday 4th March | 6pm – 7:30pm

The first ever live podcast recording in Myanmar. Activist Nandar will explore what consent is and means with special guest Win Min Than.

As voters and candidates – the role and challenges of women in the upcoming elections.
Event organized in the name of the European Delegation to Myanmar.
