A Myanmar delegation led by Vice President U Henry Van Thio left Yangon by air for Jakarta, Indonesia yesterday morning to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the new Republic of Indonesia government.

The delegation led by the Vice President was seen off at Yangon International Airport by Yangon Region Chief Minister U Phyo Min Thein, Yangon mayor U Maung Maung Soe, Indonesian ambassador Dr Iza Fadri and officials.

The Vice President was accompanied by Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Win Myat Aye and officials.

Vice President U Henry Van Thio and party reached Jakarta, Indonesia at local standard time 6 pm and was welcomed at the Soekarno-Hat-ta International Airport by Minister of National Development Planning of Indonesia Mr Bam-bang P.S. Brodjonegoro, officials from the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Myanmar Ambassador to Indonesia Daw Ei Ei Khin Aye, Myanmar Permanent Representative to ASEAN U Min Lwin and wife, Myanmar military attaché Brig-Gen Phyo Zaw Soe and wife, and officials from the Myanmar Embassy, Myanmar Permanent Mission and office of the Myanmar military attaché.

Next the Vice President and party went by motorcade to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel and presented gifts and cordially greeted the Myanmar Ambassador to Indonesia, Myanmar Permanent Representative to ASEAN, Myanmar military attaché, personnel and family members of the Myanmar embassy, Permanent Mission and Office of the Myanmar military attaché and the Myanmar community in Indonesia.

Afterwards the Vice President attended a dinner hosted by the Myanmar Ambassador.
