“Cats” is trying to claw out from the bottom.

The musical will be re-released in theaters with “improved visual effects” after it was named one of the “10 Worst Films of 2019” by the Hollywood Reporter.

Universal notified thousands of theaters on opening day that it planned to send an updated version of the film, the outlet reported.

Director Tom Hooper requested the studio distribute the new version of the movie, which features CGI effects, despite the move being unheard of for a film in release, sources told the outlet.

Hooper said at the premiere Monday that he only finished the morning before after a 36-hour cram session, Variety reported.

The troubled film adaption of Andrew Lloyd Weber’s hit musical cost around $100 million to make and featured a star-studded cast with names from James Corden to Taylor Swift.

But it opened to a dismal $2.6 million Friday and received a further lashing from movie-goers who pointed out at least one major gaffe.

In one of the scenes, actress Judi Dench can be seen with a human hand instead of the furry paw of her character, Old Deuteronomy.

“This isn’t a joke: CATS was rushed into theaters before being finished so a new version is being sent to theaters with updated effects,” tweeted Variety editor Jenelle Riley. “How do you know if you have the old version? Look for Judi Dench’s human hand, wedding ring and all.”

The updated movie will be available to download Sunday for cinemas using a satellite server, while those who don’t have access can receive it by hard drive on Tuesday, according to the report.
