“Thank you.”
Billie Eilish kept her speech short and sweet when she won Record of the Year for “Bad Guy” at the 2020 Grammys Sunday.
It was a big night for the 18-year-old and her 22-year-old brother Finneas O’Connell at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Calif., as they swept all the major categories. The “Bad Guy” singer also won Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Best New Artist.
Billie Eilish’s suggestive song was a bit controversial as it was released by an underage teen. The stylish Eilish, now 18, recorded the mesmerizing tune — and her debut album, “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?” — in her bedroom with her brother.
Lizzo, Billie Eilish, Ariana Grande, Bon Iver, H.E.R., Khalid, Lil Nas X featuring Billy Ray Cyrus, and Post Malone and Swae Lee competed in this category, which is presented to the producers, engineers and/or mixers as well as the featured recording artist.
Eilish’s team included O’Connell as producer; Rob Kinelski & Finneas O’Connell as engineers/mixers and John Greenham as mastering engineer.
