Myanmar National League 2019 champion Shan United and General Aung San Shield 2019 champion Yangon United will play in the MFF Charity Cup as the 2020 football season kicks off.
Due to the renovation taking place at the Aung San Stadium, the match will be held at the Yangon United Sports Complex in Yangon on January 5 at 3.30pm.
Myanmar National League 2019 champion Shan United says it is prepared to win in this game and it has hired four foreigner players and five local players, including four Shan United U-21 players.
Yangon United, the General Aung San Shield 2019 champion, has already signed eleven players including four foreigners as part of the preparations for the coming season.
The MFF Charity Cup is organised by Myanmar Football Federation and Myanmar National League, all the proceeds from the match will be donated to charitable organisations in Yangon.
Yangon United and Shan United met in the 2018 MFF Charity Cup and drew 2-2 in regulation time. In the penalty shoot-out, Yangon United beat Shan United 4-2.
Yangon United is the most successful team in the MFF Charity Cup having won the title three times before.
