THE Ministry of Electricity and Energy has received the Distributed Control System (DCS) Plant Model and its components and equipment from the Yokogawa Electric Corporation in Japan, which is a partner of local-private company SMART Measurement and Control Co. Ltd, a joint venture company with the ministry.
The handover ceremony of the system and equipment was held at the ministry in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.
Deputy Minister Dr Tun Naing expressed thanks for assistance, and Deputy Managing Director Mr KoJi Koimatsu from the Yokogawa Engineering Asia Pte. Ltd, and Chief Representative Officer Mr Niwat Weeragul from the Yokogawa (Thailand) Ltd explained donation programmes for effective use of knowledge and technologies in industrial automation.
Director General U Than Zaw from the Oil and Gas Planning Department received the documents o donation items presented by Managing Director Mr Prechai Trannitad from the Yokogawa (Thailand) Ltd.
Then, Deputy Minister Dr Tun Naing and U Khin Maung Win, and officials looked around the display of DSC Plant Model System and its components and instruments.
The amount of assistance is valued at US$ 150,000 that covers DCS system, its components, equipment and training programmes.
The DCS is a simula-tion process plant operated by a computerized control system which includes complete range of flowmeters, pressure transmitters, differential pressure transmitters, temperature transmitters, level transmitters and process analyzers which are used in the plants of oil, natural gas, chemicals, paper productions, electricity, steel and industries.
