Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, U Ohn Win, received a delegation led by Ms Nina Irmeli Vaskunlahti, Finland’s Under-Secretary of State for External Economic Relations, at his ministry yesterday.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on technical support for water distribution, purification and treatment, possible cooperation on generating energy from waste, a strategic plan for waste management and its implementations, cooperation on overseeing industrial and other wastes to ensure they meet set standards, manufacturing solar panels, producing pulp from eucalyptus trees and other fast growing plants, producing biomass from agriculture and forests, establishing forest plantations managed by a region, and the implementation process of the ten-year reforestation strategy.
