YANGON, MyanmarSept. 17, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Mathnasium Learning Centers, which brings impactful and fun supplementary math programs to community children, celebrated the successful grand opening of its first Myanmar location on Aug. 31. The U.S. Embassy's Deputy Chief of Mission, George Selby, participated in the festivities. 

The center, at 20A Inya Road in Yangon, was carefully designed to foster learning and interaction between instructors and students ages 6-16. Deepak Neopane, Area Developer for all of Myanmar, plans to open 15 centers in Myanmar during the next few years.Neopane, a Myanmar native who came to the U.S. during childhood, has advanced engineering degrees and has spent decades in Silicon Valley, California. He returned to Myanmar to give back to his birth country. In 2015, he founded City College Yangon and, later, the STEM Robotics and Education Center for grades 1-10. His goal is to provide quality STEM education to students in Myanmar.
