Myanmar on Sunday captured seven medals at the start of the 30th Southeast Asian Games in the Philippines.

 Six of the medals came from the Arnis martial arts event and one in Sepak takraw. In the morning session of Arnis,  Van Lian Khwal bagged one bronze in men’s  +65 kilogramme live stick division while Thet Oo Naing secured another bronze in the men’s  65 kilomgramme  live stick. Completing the arnis medal harvest was another bronze from Win Thet Paing in the men’s 60 kilogramme live stick division. Myanmar three bronze medals in Arnis moreon Sunday.

The Myanmar Sepak takraw team managed to salvage a bronze in the Hook Sepak takraw event. 

The 30th SEA Games in the Philippines formally opened late Saturday in Manila and will conclude on December 11.
