A special cargo flight carrying medical supplies of UNICEF to support Myanmar in prevention, control and treatment of COVID-19 landed at Yangon International Airport yesterday morning.

The flight arrived in Myanmar under UNICEF programme and brought US$836,568 worth of PPE sets and other medical supplies.

The UNICEF has pledged to provide $2.8million worth of PPE sets and other equipment for Myanmar’s efforts to combat the pandemic and this logistical arrangement is its third batch.

The 1st and 2nd special cargo flights arrived in Myanmar on 24 and 25 August and the 4th one is scheduled for 28 August.

The medical supplies will be transferred to the Ministry of Health and Sports.
