DEPUTY Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement U Soe Aung led an awareness campaign for the COVID-19 at the two philanthropic centres under the management of a monastery and a nunnery in Pubba Thiri Township in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

The centres were registered at the Department of Social Welfare.

The deputy minister explained the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic in 177 countries and territories, and advised to follow instructions of Ministry of Health and Sports as the centres are accommodating children and exposed to the visiting donors.

He also asked for washing hands or using hand sanitizers with at least 60 per cent alcohol content.

Dr San San Aye, the Director-General of Social Welfare Department, and officials demonstrated washing hands.

The deputy minister and party donated offertories to the monks and nuns, as well as eggs, soybean milks and soaps to the children and nuns.
