A seminar was held at the Zwekabin Natural Hotel in Hpa-an Township in Kaying State yesterday morning to develop coordination programmes between the government and private sectors for human resource development.

Union Minister for Education Dr Myo Thein Gyi delivered an opening remark at the event, saying the requirements of soft and hard skills in regional jobs, adopting sustainable development plans, assistance of his office in technical and vocational education and training, private sector development and generating skilled workers required for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises.

He also talked on the National Education Strategic Plan (2016-2021) of the Ministry of Education, ordinary and intensive engineering courses for vocational training programmes at the government technical institutes and schools and other short term training courses.
Kayin State Government’s Social Affairs Minister U Bo Bo Wai Maung explained development of education and private sector development jointly coordinated by the government and the private sector.

Kayin State Chambers of Commerce and Industry’s Vice President (1) U Zaw Htay extended greetings.
The Union Minister also visited Hpa-an University and met with its rector, deputy rector, professors (deans), lecturers, administration staff and students.
