MYANMAR delegation led by Vice President U Henry Van Thio will attend the 2nd Asia-Pacific Summit in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

The Vice President and his entourage of Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture Thura U Aung Ko and departmental officials arrived at Suvarnabhumi International Airport, Thailand, at 9: 20 am local time yesterday, and proceed to Cambodia by flight. They landed on Phnom Penh, Cambodia at 12:30 local time.

At the Phnom Penh International Airport, the Myanmar delegation was welcomed by Deputy Minister for the Office of the Council of Ministers Mr Hem Kranhtony, Myanmar Ambassador to Cambodia U Thit Lin Ohn, Myanmar Military Attaché to Cambodia Brig-Gen Win Ko Ko, and officials from Myanmar Embassy and Military Attaché Office in Cambodia.

The Vice President and party arrived at the Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel for their stay, and he received Dr Thomas G Walsh, the President of Universal Peace Federation (UPF), at the hotel.

They discussed the matters related to the 2nd Asia Pacific Summit and holding seminars and forums in Myanmar in cooperation with the UPF.

The meeting was also attended by Stockholm World Peace Prize winner Dr Ashin Sobita, Union Minister Thura U Aung Ko, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs U Soe Han, Myanmar Ambassador U Thit Lin Ohn and officials.

In the evening, the Myanmar delegation enjoyed the dinner hosted by the Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia.
