Chairman of the Union Election Commission U Hla Thein received Ambassador of India Mr Saurabh Kumar at his office in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
At the meeting, they discussed preparations for the 2020 general elections, conducting capacity building courses for staff of the UEC being conducted by the UEC and the India’s Election Commission, the Election Law and its rules, amending the Codes of Conducts for political parties and candidates, media ethics and security ethics for the general elections, plans for formation of security management committee for the general elections and negotiation committee and suggestions for using IT technology in future general elections.
