Dr Tun Naing, Deputy Minister for Electricity and Energy, inspected the Mandalay Operation Center of Myanmar-China Oil and Gas Pipelines project in Singaing Township, Mandalay Region yesterday.
Upon the report by officials on collecting and distributing natural gas, the Deputy Minister said that the strength of pipelines was very important for sustainable distribution of the oil and gas, and instructed the officials to timely conduct necessary inspections and repairs to the pipelines and compressors.
He also urged the officials to conduct capacity building trainings for the local employees working at the project so that they can supervise the whole project.
He also called for improving the skills of the staff of Myanma Oil and Gas Enterprise by conducting pipelines maintenance training. He then inspected its control station.
Afterwards, the Deputy Minister and party arrived at the natural gas Off-Take Station in Taungtha Township, and inspected collecting and distributing natural gas in its control room.
The natural gases produced by Shwe Natural Gas Project were being transported to Myanma Oil and Gas Enterprise about 100 million cubic feet a day — via Mandalay Off-Take Station (Tawma) which transports about 28 million cubic feet and Taungtha Off-Take Station which transports about 72 million cubic feet.
Myanma Oil and Gas Enterprise was regularly distributing the gases to Kyaukse glass factory, Belin power station and Myingyan power station via its Belin Off-Take Station and Myingyan Off-Take Station.
Afterwards, the Deputy Minister and party arrived at the Pyawbwe maintenance station of Myanma Oil and Gas Enterprise and inspected inside the station.
